TOPIC: Problems upon reinstalling 0.8.0
#284
Re:Problems upon reinstalling 0.8.0 7 Months ago
Password checked. Still the same issues. It seems that the database simply won't upgrade. I started PIMX up again and it gave me the same alert that the database needed to be upgraded from 7 to 8. And then I get the error messages. So what's keeping it from upgrading? Or is that really the problem? Is reverting to the old version the best solution?

Downgrading to the previous version of PIM Xtreme could be a solution, but not the "best" in my opinion. You could try it if you really need the data now.
What's happening is weird. We are probably missing something here.

After unstalling the previous version of PIM Xtreme and installing the new one, did you restore your backup using PIM Xtreme Database Manager? (I'm sure you did, but asking just in case )
Could you post an image of the Options window of PIM Xtreme DB Manager?

Regards!

Oh, one more thing: I think the "change password" button of PIM Xtreme DB Manager is not working.
I'm not sure which password did you entered on PIM Xtreme Login window to make it login properly, but the same one should be entered in Option window of PIM Xtreme DB Manager.

Yes, I did restore the back-up of my old database with the DB manager, The image of the options window (connection tab) is here:

I think I did run into some password issues, so I just undid it all - no passwords. But this doesn't seem to be the problem. I don't know if this helps, but I only had data in 3 modules: notes, contacts, and tasks. The tasks restored without issue, but the contacts and notes yielded all the "refresh grid" errors (of which I posted screenshots previously). The problem seems to be with it being unable to upgrade. I imagine that something about the tasks did not require upgrading to be viewable, but the other modules do. So how do we get it to upgrade? That seems to be the question or problem at this point.

Hi David!

I think I found the problem! I'm deeply sorry about this. It was a problem with the PIM Xtreme Database Manager. This app was using the old MySQL Driver (the 3.51).

I'll try to fix it now and send the file to you so you can test it.

Again, I'm sorry for all this trouble.

Regards!

I created a new PIM Xtreme Database Manager for you to try.
It's located at http://dgtalize.com/files/pimx/PIMXDBMan.exe. Just replace your file with this one (backup your original file just in case ).

I'm not sure if it's gonna work because it's a new preliminar version of PIM Xtreme DB Manager and you probably need some other files to run it.
But please test it and let me know.

I hope this works.

Regards!
